  • Often in life you meet people, you develop a connection maybe you are not aware of and then they amaze you with an unexpected gesture! . . Last week Saturday in a farmers market in Tokyo near my old home I was walking around and making stories about it. And then I heard a voice calling my name in Japanese accent. I looked behind there was this old man who used to have his small corner in this farmers market. . Over the 4 years I lived there I went almost every weekend and bought my flowers, Japanese ingredients, fresh vegetables and many things in this market and in his shop. Just before leaving Tokyo the last time when I shopped there I told him I am moving to Singapore and he casually asked my name. He couldn’t pronounce it so he wrote it down in Katakana. And when I heard him call my name, I was amazed he still remembered me 😌. It was really a humbling moment for me! . So after talking to him in my embarrassing Japanese, I went to his shop and found these amazing Black Garlic from Aomori! I couldn’t buy the fresh and amazing produce he had but I did get some of these beauties! . So this is the story behind this #blackgarlic! . . . I can’t wait to create some of my favourite dishes with this delicious black garlic! . . . . . #culinarynirvana #foodinjapan #bringmejoy #foodmemories #humblingexperience #umami #foodislife #feedfeed #foodphotos #foodfluffer #hautecuisines #thecookfeed #traveldiaries #farmersmarket #eatlocal #eatfresh #traveljapan #tokyolife #connections #joysoflife #simplemoments #nikon2470 #nikonphotography #japanesefood #mylife #oldisgold #memories

Love this shot! Also life is all about vibes and connections isn’t it? There are people whom we just know through their face. Maybe not even their names but you always have that connection that is special. And that’s what helps us go through in life :)

That’s a lovely click... have you tried the black garlic from Yakage? It’s really delicious..by far the best I’ve had 😋

I recently tried some (picked up at my local grocery store) and it was CRAZY delish 🙌🏼 in a soup! Too bad, too sad that I still break out in huge zits with fermented foods 😳, so I had to back off 😔. Hopefully as I keep working on my microbiome, I will be able to enjoy in the future. PS: its a highly beneficial & nutritious food. All the benefits of reg garlic + fermented goodness and high antioxidants contained in that deep black hue ✨
